Saunders Recorders
Used Instrument List

Clients' Instruments

(Illustrations not to scale. Colours approximate, but close.)

The instruments listed here are not the property of the business. This is effectively a 'small ads' page. The postings are made on the basis of 'good faith'. Please email me if you wish to sell an instrument via this page.

If you wish to purchase one of these instruments you should contact the vendor, by email. These are not 'commission sales', neither John Everingham nor Saunders Recorders is in any way responsible for any aspect of the instruments or any deal that may be negotiated.

I have produced one of my extended pages on the subject of used instruments. You would do well to read it! Click here.

There is now a page on the value of used instruments. Click here.

If you are unsure of the implication of technical terms check my Glossary.

The vendor has authorised the following statement:-

'This pretty recorder has a sweet sound and is in excellent condition. It was a top of the range model when it was purchased (from Saunders Recorders) in 1977 and has been carefully played and well cared for since. The key was fitted later by an instrument maker in Manchester. It is highly unusual but works well.'

Arnold Dolmetsch Treble, Bakelite, c1950. This is part of British recorder playing history. I still have the one I learned on, even older, and dark chocolate in colour. This model plays remarkably well, in the traditional Dolmetsch way.

The owner wrote:-

I wonder if you, or anyone you know, may be interested in purchasing an Arnold Doltmetsch Ltd, Bakelite Recorder, Circa early 1950's, including provenance. It was passed on to me by a very dear friend, in the hope that I may use it but I have never had the time. The recorder (Approx. 19ins/48cms long), comes in it's orignal box, with a guarantee, (probably well out of date now!), including original a sheet Tablature for Dometsch Recorders in F, (revised by Carl F. Dolmetsch 1949). In excellent condition and made from Bakelite, the recorder has the words, 'MADE IN ENGLAND/DOLMETCH/TREBLE RECORDER/BRITISH PATENT NO. 628268'. The recorder has been loving used and looked after by it's former owner and always cleaned and put away when not in use, as you may be able to see in the photo.

Please contact Hidden text. for more details. (South Yorkshire.)
